Fast, Reliable Urgent Care When Your Pet Needs It Most

If your pet is experiencing an emergency, call us immediately at 916-925-3535 or contact one of the after-hours centers.

What is veterinary urgent care?

Veterinary urgent care is same-day treatment for time-sensitive but non-life-threatening conditions. This includes unexpected injuries and illnesses that cause your pet pain, distress, or irritation. Urgent care appointments are seen during normal business hours (Monday–Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

Common reasons for an urgent care visit include:

  • Limping
  • Painful movement/stiffness
  • Persistent itching/allergies/ear infections
  • Vomiting and/or diarrhea
  • Coughing or sneezing
  • Insect stings
  • Paw pad or toenail injuries
  • Appetite loss
  • Increased thirst and/or urination
  • Minor wounds or lacerations
  • Parasites (fleas, ticks)

Not seeing your pet’s condition? We can conveniently triage your pet by phone and determine if urgent care is the right choice for them.

Know before you go… Urgent care do’s and don’ts

Do call ahead (if possible)

Urgent care patients are seen between regularly scheduled appointments. Calling ahead lets us anticipate your arrival and may help minimize wait times.

Don’t be surprised if you have to wait

Much like a human hospital, pets may be seen in order of severity. Emergencies will take priority. To make your wait more comfortable, we have a complimentary refreshment bar and cozy seating.

Do share as much information as you can

This includes details about your pet’s symptoms, diet, any medications or supplements they are receiving, recent medical history, and any changes in their behavior or routine.

Don’t hesitate, we’re here to help

We know it can be difficult to determine when your pet needs care, but waiting too long can allow your pet’s condition to worsen. Our caring team can help you make the right decision at the right time.
