Innovative Integrative Therapies for Lasting Comfort
Pain from acute or chronic conditions can affect your pet’s daily activities and limit their quality of life. Integrative therapies help pets recover faster, maintain or rebuild mobility, and enjoy greater comfort by utilizing the body’s natural processes.
Laser therapy
Laser therapy—also known as “cold laser” or photobiomodulation—uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular activity. When applied to specific tissues or joints, laser therapy can increase circulation, reduce inflammation, remove harmful waste products, and accelerate healing.
We often recommend laser therapy for:
- Osteoarthritis
- Orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions
- Dental and gingival conditions
- Post-operative healing
- Wound and incision healing
- Soft tissue strains and sprains
- Palliative or comfort care for seniors or debilitated pets
Laser therapy is gentle and non-invasive. It can usually be performed while your pet is awake; however, light sedation may be needed for anxious or painful pets.
Platelet-rich plasma injections
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections use your pet’s own cells to stimulate tissue repair and healing, improve comfort, and reduce inflammation. These cells—including platelets and beneficial growth factors—are injected into the injured joint, ligament, or tendon for targeted relief.
PRP injections may be recommended for pets with:
- Osteoarthritis
- Tendon and ligament strains or ruptures
- Orthopedic injuries (hip dysplasia, cranial cruciate ligament injury)
- Decreased mobility
Improvement may be noted in as little as a few weeks. When combined with other therapies, the benefits of a PRP injection can last up to several months.
