Fast, Accurate Diagnostic Testing, All On-Site

When your pet is sick or injured, or simply undergoing a routine screening test, the last thing you want to do is wait for answers. Our on-site diagnostic laboratory and imaging services provide rapid, accurate results while you wait.

In-house laboratory testing

Our in-house lab includes a suite of analyzers that measure blood, urine, skin, and fecal samples. These sophisticated machines, along with manual microscopic exams, allow us to perform a variety of tests and use real-time results to inform your pet’s care.

Advanced imaging

Imaging is a relatively low-stress, noninvasive way to assess your pet’s internal structures, including bones, organs, and soft tissues. Depending on your pet’s condition and need, one or more imaging modalities may be used.

Digital X-ray

High-resolution digital X-rays are used to examine your pet’s bones, joints, chest, and abdomen. Digital X-rays can be taken quickly, often with only gentle restraint; however, sedation may be required if your pet is painful, stressed, or injured.

Ultrasound

Ultrasonography uses sound waves to create real-time images of internal organs and structures. Our veterinarians use this gentle imaging technique to rapidly triage sick or injured pets, scan the abdomen for fluid or tumors, evaluate pregnancies, perform ultrasound-guided biopsies, and evaluate organ function and blood flow in real time.

Cardiac ultrasound

Our veterinarians can perform a cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) to evaluate the heart’s structure, thickness, function, and health. By viewing the heart in real time, they can also observe valve function, blood flow, and possible obstructions.

Specialist interpretation

When appropriate, your pet’s images can be electronically submitted to a board-certified veterinary radiologist for additional review. For complex conditions, a mobile board-certified radiologist may perform your pet’s ultrasound in our hospital.
