Dr. Pate was inspired to go to veterinary school by a small dachshund that she rescued, She graduated from UC Davis in 1998. After completing an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in South Weymouth, Massachusetts, Dr. Pate worked in Connecticut for a year, after which she came back home to California. She had been practicing in the Sacramento area for more than 20 years. She enjoys all aspects of animal care. She is certified by the IAAHPC in hospice and palliative care. In her off time, she lives with multiple animals that are often special needs.
