Dr. Amend grew up in the Florida Panhandle, she knew early on she wanted to be a veterinarian and would regularly rescue injured wildlife. Dr. Amend did her undergraduate work at the University of Florida (Go Gators!). She made a move to the midwest to complete veterinary school at Kansas State University. Dr. Amend made her way to California after veterinary school, she has been practicing in the Sacramento area since.
In her off time, she enjoys staying active. She is an avid soccer player and enjoys many outdoor pursuits with her four-legged adventure buddies, two german shepherds- Leala and Raiden. But there is always time for relaxing with the last member of the family- a cat, Scarlet.
